Training

Cadets learn valuable skills while in the program not only for their careers as fire fighters, but also for life. Trust is built from the ground up, bonds are formed, friendships are made, and brotherhood is established.

Cadets train with the rest of the department each Wednesday night begining at 1900 hrs. Each is expected to be at the weekly trainings ready to learn new skills and brush-up on ones previously learned. Before a Cadet may board any apparatus, they are expected to know what is located in each compartment, and be able to locate tools and other items when they are called for.

Special Training Oportunities

If a Cadet shows interest, willingness to learn, and loyalty to the department, they are usually offered extra training oportunities. This could mean enrollment in a fire academy.

Cadets may also be invited to participate in the many special teams on the fire department such as Technical Rescue, Dive Rescue, and Haz-Mat.
